howard speed is a made-up character, created by mac. Mac invented him when he was forced by miss Nogard to use a shoelace for show-and-tell. He thought up a tale of Howard being the fastest runner in the world, but he always ran out of his shoes. they tried many things, including glue and nails, to keep his shoes on. he also remarked Howard lived in Africa, therefore he had no access to velcro tree, and that Thomas Edison invented shoelaces. In the champ of the world, he almost won, but tripped over his untied laces.
